The Country Flowers set is irresistible and so I had to use it for my reveal card.  I started by creating a pocket on my card front by folding the top right corner down.

http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?cPath=25_76&products_id=2720
I punched a piece of sticker paper and added Orchid Glitter.  This was used for the border along the top of the pocket.  Then strips of 1/4" and 1/8” Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape were added along the bottom and covered with Orchid Glitter.

I stamped the main floral image twice, heat embossed with Black Detail EP, and colored with Copic Markers.

I fussy cut one entire image for the pocket front and the flowers only for the insert card.

The sentiment was stamped across the top of the insert card.

I completed the insert card by adding strips of the decorative paper from the card front, along with strips of Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape, covered with Orchid Glitter.

A Guiding Light

Happy Memorial Day! I am so grateful to all those who have sacrificed so much for us.

It was a lovely day today and I know many spent time with their families.  One of my favorite things to do on Memorial weekends as a child was to go fishing with my father.  The new Just Go Fishing stamp set from Sparkle N Sprinkle really touched my heart and brought back memories of those times with my dad.  Today I am sharing a card created with this set.

The background of this card was created with an embossing folder and three embossing powders.  After running a piece of white cardstock through an embossing folder, I light sponged the raised area with blue Memento Ink.  Then I sponged over this with Versamark Ink and sprinkled on some Poolside EP.  After heat setting this, I sponged on more Versamark Ink and sprinkled on some Mediterranean Star EP and heat set.  I repeated this process one more time with Americana EP.  This was layered on a piece of cardstock edged with Versamark Ink and Americana EP, then added to the white card base.

I used the digital version of this stamp set, printing the image and sentiment in black on white cardstock.  I edged the sentiment with some blue Memento Ink, then added some Versamark and heat set with Poolside EP.  This was layered on another square of white cardstock edged with Americana EP.

The image was cut out using a Spellbinder circle die and sponged with distress inks.  Then the edge of the circle was heat set with Poolside EP and this was layered on a slightly larger white circle edged with Americana EP.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to check back for the upcoming Sparkle N Sprinkle June Reveal Blog Hop.

Nasturtiums

Are you like me and can never have enough flower images?  Have you seen the new Nasturtium #1 and Nasturtium #2 stamp sets from Sparkle N Sprinkle?  They are a must have with easy to color floral images and a variety of sentiments included.  Today’s card features the Nasturtium #1 digital image and stamped sentiment.

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink in the center of a piece of white cardstock and heat embossed it with Sparkle Embossing Powder.  Then I stamped it a second time with Versamark Ink and added Merlot Velvet Glitter.  When I heat set it the 2nd time, the glitter settles into the embossing powder so it will stay in place when it cools.  This way the sentiment color will match the glitter I used throughout the card.  This piece of cardstock was edged with 1/4" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape and layered on the white card base.  Merlot Velvet Glitter was added to the exposed adhesive to create the look of another layer.

I die cut Tutti Designs’ Butterfly Oval from sticker paper.  I slowly removed various sections of the top protective layer to add Merlot,  Blue Jewel, Sunny Daze, and Pistachio glitters.  This sparkly oval die was layered around the sentiment.

I printed out the digital version of the Nasturtium flowers twice, colored with Copic Markers, and fussy cut.  To give them sparkle to go with the die cut, I covered each flower with Versamark Ink and Sparkle Embossing Powder.  I used a stencil tool lightly shape the flowers and adhered them over the smaller flowers on the die cut.

Thank you for visiting!

Girls' Night

I have a simple, fun card to share, using Just For Fun stamps.  The minute I saw the Funky Toucans set, I had to have them because they looked so cute and fun.  I knew just what I wanted to do with them.

They were stamped in black and, after coloring with copics, they were fussy cut.  Then they were layered on a scalloped oval that was run through an embossing folder.  I added a mix of pears, jewels, and a sticker to dress up the birds.

This Girls Night saying goes so well with this and was stamped in Rose Bud Memento ink along the card bottom.

Speaking of “girls”, don’t forget about JFF's current monthly challenge with the theme of “Let’s Hear It For The Girls”.  Get all the details on the JFF Blog here.

Have a fantastic week.

A Friend Knows The Song

I hope everyone had a nice Mother’s Day and was able to spend some time with family.  Today I want to share one more card using Want 2 Scrap chipboard embellishments.  Since these Style E pieces have such a lovely swirl, I wanted this card to be light and elegant.  I started with light pink layered on white and then added a white oval die cut with Spellbinders’ Oval Majesty 4.

The chipboard swirls were covered with Versamark Ink and then Lana Pink Embossing Powder was added and heat set.  This process was repeated to provide good coverage.

The sentiment, from Sparkle N Springkle’s Beautiful Friendship set, was stamped with Versamark Ink and heat set with Pear Star Embossing Powder.  This was layered behind a white die, cut with Spellbinders’ medium size Fleur de Elegance #3 die and layered over the chipboard pieces.  The rose, also from the Beautiful Friendship set, was stamped in brown with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic Markers.  It was fussy cut and added to the card front, after adding a small touch of Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter, using a glue pen.

Thank you for stopping by!
