Simple Topiary

I have two versions of a simple card to share today.  This card can be used for all kinds of occasions and features stamps from Just For Fun.

The background was created by adding a variety of Distress Oxide Inks to the Stacked Blocks image and stamping on a white strip.  The Topiary image was stamped in black on top.  It didn’t show up as much as I wanted so I stamped it again on white, fussy cut, and layered it on top.

The remainder of the card was layers of white, with the images popped up in the center, and score lines added.

Since I still wanted the look of the Topiary simply stamped on top of the colors, the Stacked Blocks was stamped again with the remaining ink on the white card front.  Since this was lighter, the image showed up much better.

A green layer was added to bring out more of the image colors.

Hope you have a fantastic week.

Diagonal Valentine Treat Boxes

Is Valentine’s Day sneaking up on you?  Here are some little treat boxes that you still have time to make.

This first box is only 1 ½” on all sides.  It is created with two-sides cardstock and tied shut with pink polka-dot ribbon.

It opens up with diagonal edges to reveal a treat for your sweetie.  The inside shows the 2nd coordinating design and a solid colored insert stamped with the Valentine saying from Just For Fun's  Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet.

A 3-D heart was created by combining three folded die cut hearts to embellish the top.

This second box uses the same design but is a 2” cube, making room for larger treats.  One of the hearts from JFF's Sentiment Hearts Mini Cube was stamped for the sentiment.

To create the flower embellishment on top, the flower from JFF's Brushed Floral image was stamped three times, fussy cut, and the edges inked.  These were shaped with a stenciling tool on a foam pad, layered, and added to the box top.

I found the instructions and video links for these boxes here.  I hope you enjoy making them.

Just For Fun February Challenge

Where did January go?  It flew by and Just for Fun Rubber Stamps' Blog has a new challenge for February.  The new challenge is "Silhouette Stamps".

Just for Fun has so many wonderful ones in their online store and I love working with these.

I created this Valentine’s card using JFF’s Couple Under Light Post silhouette stamp.  It was stamped in red on white cardstock and layered on black.

For the background, one of JFF’s 2 Sided Postal Hearts was heat embossed in white and spritzed with water.  Color Bursts were carefully sprinkled on and allowed to spread and bleed.  When dry, this was layered on black and white and a pink card base.  Dark and light pink jewels were added to the sides.

Get all the challenge details at the Just For Fun blog.  You can also see more great samples from my fellow designers.
